- THE DEAD SMART SELF BUILD GUIDE
-
- If you have chosen to view this file during installation, please note that
- due to the last minute frenzy of activity imputting as much land as possible,
- a few items have had to be put on the back burner for the next issue due in
- March. The first of these, is that when you have finished reading this file,
- and return to the installation, there will be a delay of 30 seconds or so
- before your computer continues. This will be fixed before March. We have
- had such a deluge of land information, that in many cases we were unable to
- scan in the Estate Agents details, so the 'Details' button is inoperative.
- You may find a couple of other buttons which are not yet connected, but as
- we were faced with the choice of fixing them or including more land, we
- felt you would prefer to see more land.
-
- You will have received this CD free of charge, either from the front cover
- of SelfBuild magazine, or by having sent us a 6"x9" sae. We will be
- launching a revised CD every three months, and are already working on the
- next release. All versions of the Self Build Guide will be free, and you
- will be able to get them the same way as this one.
-
- The concept for the Dead Smart series of guides was only put together three
- months ago, and I would like to thank the following for their unstinting
- efforts during that time, as without their hard work we would still be on
- the drawing board
-
- Alan Beeston, Sandra Doye, Jacqui and Jenny Allen, David Richards,
- Armjit Raj, Andrea Holland, Dennis Bailey, Paul Watson, James Dwyer,
- Colin Butcher, Mark Jenkins, Gerda Cooper, Jennifer Walland,
- Reginald Macdonald, and Mark Heather.
-
- Also many thanks are due to the many companies who have demonstrated their
- faith in us, and our new concept by placing their advertising with us, and
- special thanks to everyone at SelfBuild magazine by trusting us to deliver
- a product on time, and worthy of their fine magazine.
-
- As you progress through the guide, you will notice that your mouse pointer
- changes to a flat hand as you move across the screen. When you move the
- hand over an item that has further information linked to it the hand will
- change to a pointing finger, and a single click with the mouse will take
- you through to the next page. Generally you will find that if some text
- is in red, it has a link behind it.
-
- We hope that you find the contents of this guide to be of interest, and
- that you will continue to obtain a copy of it, and use it. If you contact
- a company that has advertised within the guide, please let them know so
- that they will recognise the benefit of what we have acheived.
-
- We have a web site HTTP://WWW.DEADSMARTSELFBUILD.CO.UK which has all of the
- CD's information on it, together with a list of the latest land we are
- aware of. Of interest will be the 'Items for sale' section, where you can
- advertise left over materials, tools, etc that you may have so that other
- selfbuilders can benefit from their use.
-
- We also propose to include information on the next CD that will give tips
- and hints to assist with any aspect of selfbuild, and would welcome any
- contributions. We would also like to know if there are any other areas of
- information that you would find useful, and if we can include it we will.
-
- Once again, many thanks for getting the DEAD SMART SELF BUILD GUIDE, and
- good luck,
-
- Happy building,
-
- Simon Walland
