  1. This bonus disk contains demonstration programs for Desaware's five products,
  2. SpyWorks-VB, VersionStamper-VB, The Common Dialog Toolkit, CCF-Cursors and
  3. the Custom Control Factory for Visual Basic.

  5. You can run the executable of these sample programs even if you do not currently
  6. own any of these products.
  7.  
  8. It also contains several sample programs for use with SpyWorks-VB and
  9. VersionStamper-VB. You must have SpyWorks-VB or VersionStamper-VB in
  10. order to load these projects. The forms for the sample programs are compressed
  11. with COMPRESS, you can use the EXPAND command to decompress them. COMPRESS and
  12. EXPAND comes with VB 3.0 Professional and is usually installed in the
  13. \vb3\setupkit\kitfiles directory.

  15. COOP1 and COOP2: Shows how to communicate between applications using Windows messages.
  16. Run COOP1 and launch COOP2 from COOP1.
  17.  
  18. TH_RT_M: Shows how to tile and cascade your Visual Basic application like other
  19. Windows applications.  Visual Basic applications do not respond to the Task List's
  20. "Tile" or "Cascade" commands.  In fact, if you have a Visual Basic application minimized
  21. and tried to perform a "Tile" command from the Task List, you will see a hole where the
  22. Visual Basic program is suppose to be.

  24. CTRL_ESC: Shows how to intercept the Ctrl-Esc key and prevent the Task List from
  25. appearing.

  27. TOPMOST: Shows how to keep your form as the top-most (i.e. Always on Top) form.

  29. CAPSLOCK: Properly handle the Caps Lock key when detecting hot keys.

  31. TOOLTIP: How to display status bar help and tooltips using SpyWorks.

  33. SPLASH: Implement a Splash screen while Verifying VBXs and DLLs with VersionStamper.

  35. KEYSND: Demonstrates the use of the SBC.VBX DelayedEvent.

  37. NL1TOP10: Top 10 Windows tricks for Visual Basic that you can do with the Windows
  38. API functions (this does not require SpyWorks-VB).

  52. For better performance, you can copy the files onto your hard disk before
  53. running them.

  55. This disk also contains files apibk.doc (word for windows format) and apibk.rtf (RTF format)
  56. which contain a list of all changes and corrections for "PC Magazine Visual Basic Programmer's 
  57. Guide to the Windows API" from Ziff-Davis Press as of the 4th printing.
