-
- Accessing a course as a registered student
-
- There are two ways you can be registered to a course.
-
- 1. By being allocated a student number by the training administrator
-
- Your training administrator allocates you a student number. This number
- is contained in a student file which must be copied to the course \STUDENT
- directory. The name of the file is the student number with the extension NAM.
-
-
- 2. By using the self registration facility
-
- The self registration facility can be turned "on" or "off" manually or
- by using the Access utility (which is available on the Utility Diskette).
-
- * Turning on self registration manually
-
- Copy the file REG.DAT from the course disk 1 \SYSTEM directory to
- the course \STUDENT directory on the PC drive.
-
- * Turning on self registration using the Access utility
-
- With the Utility Diskette in your <A> drive,
- and from Program Manager, select File-Run
-
- In the command line, type A:
-
- Select Browse
-
- Click on the Utility directory
-
- This will take you into the Access Utility
-
- Select the course(s) you wish to register for.
- Click on the SELF REGISTRATION option.
- Then click the UPDATE button.
- Click the exit button
-
-
- Self registration is now available.
-
- After you have enabled self registration for the course
- you are ready to register yourself as a student.
-
- When you enter a course, you will be prompted to register
- yourself by typing self, clicking <OK> and then entering
- the following student information.
-
- Name: Key your name, last name first
- Number: Key the first eight digits of your student number
-
- Click on the <More> button for additional options.
-
-
- Note: The first time you enter a course you will need to enter your
- registration information. Subsequent entries into the same course
- will only require you to enter your student number to proceed
- directly into the course.
