  2. Welcome to MissionForce: CyberStorm, a strategy game set 
  3. in the Earthsiege universe.  CyberStorm takes strategy gaming
  4. to a new level, with a detailed and rich turn-based game
  5. that uses superb graphics and gameplay to challenge even the 
  6. most experienced gamer.
  7.  
  8. NOTE:  If you do not have Microsoft's Direct X drivers installed
  9. on your system, you will not hear any sounds in this demo.  The
  10. full release version of CyberStorm will install these needed 
  11. drivers automatically and you will be able to hear our full sound
  12. and music once you install the release version of the game.  If you
  13. have access to the internet, you can download these drivers from 
  14. the demo page at HTTP://WWW.SIERRA.COM or from Microsoft directly.

  16. To play this demo, you need only select one of the three sample
  17. missions from the main menu.  You will then be given a simple
  18. briefing and be placed directly into battle.   There, you will
  19. see your force of Hercs (the giant fighting machines you will 
  20. command in this game) and Bioderms (the pilots who drive those 
  21. Hercs).  Exploration of the terrain will reveal enemies.

  23. The particular world in this demonstration has high cliffs.  If 
  24. you have trouble finding a unit, it may be behind a hill.  You 
  25. can rotate the battlefield using the icons at the upper-left of 
  26. the battle interface.  Feel free to view the battlefield at any
  27. angle and height you choose.

  29. While exploring the demonstration version of CyberStorm, use the
  30. right mouse button to click on items you'd like more information
  31. on.  Though the game manual and help files are unavailable on the
  32. demo version, the full right-click help IS available.  It will 
  33. help guide you though the demonstration.

  35. Keep in mind: This is a tiny demonstration of a large game.  Many 
  36. forms of special effects, world types, sounds, animations, unit types 
  37. and background music are not included in this demo.  Also, a large 
  38. portion of the strategy involved in CyberStorm is planning the type
  39. of forces you purchase to take into a particular battle.  You may
  40. find screen snapshots of this aspect of the game at the Sierra website.

  42. In the full release version of CyberStorm, there are 30 different 
  43. Bioderm pilots available, 8 different Hercs, 70 different weapons, 
  44. over 30 different internal component systems, and 23 different 
  45. worlds to challenge.  With a mission generator as part of the game, 
  46. no two missions will ever be alike.  With almost limitless 
  47. combinations of weapons and systems, you can play through a 
  48. campaign of CyberStorm, and then start another to enjoy a 
  49. completely new experience.

  51. Though this demo does not allow you to sample the multiplayer 
  52. capability of CyberStorm, you can play the release version over a 
  53. modem between two human players, or with up to eight players on a 
  54. local-area network.  The mission generator puts YOU in control, 
  55. allowing you to construct any mission type you wish for a 
  56. multiplayer game... from competitive "smashfests" to cooperative 
  57. missions where you and your friends are trying to destroy an enemy 
  58. base.
