- 02/24/98 - SpyCam v3.20
-
- Changes:
-
- 1) Increased the maximum minutes upload interval from
- 2 hours to 4 hours.
-
- 2) After many MANY people complained about the OK
- button closing SpyCam, I finally removed the OK
- and Cancel buttons and replaced them with one
- Exit button.
-
- 3) All login and password settings in SpyCam are now
- encrypted when they are stored in the registry. This
- means nobody can see your passwords just by running
- regedit.
-
- *** You will need to re-enter your dialup login, dialup
- password, ftp login, and ftp password settings on
- SpyCams Settings tab.
-
-
- 02/19/98 - SpyCam v3.00
-
- Changes:
-
- 1) Fix for capture devices that generate YUV frames
- has been implemented. If you have one of these
- capture devices, check the YUV checkbox on the
- Settings tab and press the Apply button.
-
- 2) You can now select either a transparent background
- or choose a color to use as the background for the
- caption text.
-
-
- 02/15/98 - SpyCam v2.45
-
- A bug fix release.
- Problems corrected:
-
- 1) Removed logic that was causing SpyCam to stop
- working with some FTP servers. Those of you
- that were having the $$SpyCam$$.jpg file problem
- should notice that this version works for you.
-
- Thats it for now.
-
-
- 01/30/98 - SpyCam v2.40
-
- A bug fix release.
- Problems corrected:
-
- 1) Sound effects check box always checked at startup
- even if previously it was turned off.
-
- 2) 'File busy' situation handled when SpyCam was attempting
- to FTP an image file while a user was attempting to
- download the image for viewing.
-
- 3) 'File busy' situation handled on the local disk drive
- for users who do not use FTP.
-
-
- 01/10/98 - SpyCam v2.30
-
- 1) Added accelerators to all check boxes and buttons.
-
- 2) Added AutoStart capability. Setting this check
- box on the Control tab will cause SpyCam to
- become active automatically upon startup. This
- means you can now put SpyCam in the Startup folder
- and have it go active upon system bootup. Once
- SpyCam starts, there is a one minute pause before
- making the initial capture to allow the system to
- settle down. Now all you people who have been
- asking for this feature should be happy <grin>.
-
- 3) The Control tab is now the tab that is open when
- SpyCam starts (instead of the Setup tab).
-
- The SpyCam screen saver which will be sent free to all
- registered users of SpyCam should be released within
- the next few days. All registered users will be notified
- by email when it is ready.
-
-
- 12/24/97 - SpyCam v2.20
-
- 1) Added capability to select the font (including
- color) for the caption text.
-
- 2) Reduced granularity of capture interval to seconds.
- You can now select update intervals from 0 to
- 2 hours in 1 second intervals.
-
- If you enjoy SpyCam and wish to see it evolve, please
- register. Without registrations, I cannot continue to get
- the tools and hardware to support the effort.
- For more information on the registration (only $5 US)
- please see the SpyCam homepage:
-
- To further encourage registrations, I am currently
- developing a SpyCam screen saver. This screen saver
- will cycle through a configurable list of webcam sites
- (from any webcam package, SpyCam or others) at a configurable
- interval and display the current images. This screen
- saver will be emailed to everyone who registers
- (or who has registered) SpyCam. So make sure you include
- your email address with your registration.
-
-
- 12/20/97 - SpyCam v2.10
-
- 1) The logic for the dialup login and password entry
- was changed. Now you may enter this information
- under the Setup tab. If you enter no information
- there, you will be prompted for the information
- before the first connection attempt.
-
- Next version will contain update interval granularity
- in seconds, and being able to set the color and font
- for the caption text.
-
- Then, unless there are more registrations to warrant
- work on my part, there may be no more new features
- added for a while.
-
- If there is more interest (registrations), the next
- new features would be running in the system tray and
- being able to be active upon system startup.
-
-
- 12/18/97 - SpyCam v2.01
-
- 1) Bug was fixed that caused SpyCam to fail on startup
- if the Remote Dialup service was not installed on
- the machine.
-
- A new version will be released within a few days that
- will allow you to enter your dialup login and password
- on the Setup tab of SpyCam. This should eliminate
- most of those headaches for people.
-
-
- 12/17/97 - SpyCam v2.00
-
- Fixes/Additions:
-
- 1) Added Driver combo box to the Control tab dialog.
- This allows the user to select which video capture
- driver they want SpyCam to capture its image from.
- This is only useful to those people who happen to
- have more than one capture device installed.
-
- 2) Created installation program for SpyCam.
-
- 3) Added remote dialing capability. SpyCam can now
- dialup your ISP if need be to upload the image file.
-
- 4) Added configurable caption capability for both the
- top and bottom lines of the image. Either caption
- can include configurable timestamp elements.
-
- 5) Added sound effects on image capture.
- (Don't laugh, it was requested by several people :)
-
- 6) The Intel USB PC Imaging Camera (others???) seems to have
- a problem setting the compression field on some video
- for windows calls. Some ATI TV cards have similar problems.
- Please email me at wpo@lpa.com with your board/camera
- make/model if you experience problems capturing the image.
-
-
- 11/20/97 - SpyCam v1.10
-
- Fixes/Additions:
-
- 1) Plugged a memory leak which caused SpyCam to eat up all of
- the the machines memory eventually.
-
- 2) Added the Next Update field to the Control Tab dialog.
- This field displays the next time SpyCam will automatically
- update the image. This is displayed in local time.
-
- 3) Changed the Status field on the Control Tab dialog to display
- the time in local time instead of GMT.
-
- 4) Changed the way the SpyCam web page is selected in the About
- dialog. Instead of a View Web Page pushbutton, the web page
- URL on the dialog operates like a hyperlink in Internet Explorer.
- Select the hyperlink to automatically go to the SpyCam home page.
-
- This quick update was unplanned, but necessary to correct the memory
- leak problem. This problem caused machines with small amounts of
- memory to die within 2 hours of starting SpyCam.
-
- The next release should have the capability to automatically connect
- to your ISP to upload an image (if necessary).
-
-
- 11/15/97 - SpyCam v1.00
-
- First public release.
