  8. 2) After many MANY people complained about the OK
  9.    button closing SpyCam, I finally removed the OK
  10.    and Cancel buttons and replaced them with one
  11.    Exit button.

  13. 3) All login and password settings in SpyCam are now
  14.    encrypted when they are stored in the registry.  This
  15.    means nobody can see your passwords just by running
  16.    regedit.

  34.    caption text.

  59.    to FTP an image file while a user was attempting to
  60.    download the image for viewing.

  63.    for users who do not use FTP.

  68. 1) Added accelerators to all check boxes and buttons.

  70. 2) Added AutoStart capability.  Setting this check
  71.    box on the Control tab will cause SpyCam to
  72.    become active automatically upon startup.  This
  73.    means you can now put SpyCam in the Startup folder
  74.    and have it go active upon system bootup.  Once
  75.    SpyCam starts, there is a one minute pause before
  76.    making the initial capture to allow the system to
  77.    settle down.  Now all you people who have been
  78.    asking for this feature should be happy <grin>.

  80. 3) The Control tab is now the tab that is open when
  81.    SpyCam starts (instead of the Setup tab).

  83. The SpyCam screen saver which will be sent free to all
  84. registered users of SpyCam should be released within
  85. the next few days.  All registered users will be notified
  86. by email when it is ready.

  92.    color) for the caption text.

  94. 2) Reduced granularity of capture interval to seconds.

  105. To further encourage registrations, I am currently
  106. developing a SpyCam screen saver.  This screen saver
  107. will cycle through a configurable list of webcam sites
  108. (from any webcam package, SpyCam or others) at a configurable
  109. interval and display the current images.  This screen 
  110. saver will be emailed to everyone who registers
  111. (or who has registered) SpyCam. So make sure you include
  112. your email address with your registration.

  117. 1) The logic for the dialup login and password entry
  118.    was changed.  Now you may enter this information
  119.    under the Setup tab.  If you enter no information
  120.    there, you will be prompted for the information
  121.    before the first connection attempt.

  123. Next version will contain update interval granularity
  124. in seconds, and being able to set the color and font
  125. for the caption text.

  127. Then, unless there are more registrations to warrant
  128. work on my part, there may be no more new features
  129. added for a while.

  131. If there is more interest (registrations), the next
  132. new features would be running in the system tray and
  133. being able to be active upon system startup.

  138. 1) Bug was fixed that caused SpyCam to fail on startup
  139.    if the Remote Dialup service was not installed on
  140.    the machine.
  141.  
  142. A new version will be released within a few days that
  143. will allow you to enter your dialup login and password
  144. on the Setup tab of SpyCam.  This should eliminate
  145. most of those headaches for people.

  148. 12/17/97 - SpyCam v2.00

  150. Fixes/Additions:
  151.  
  152. 1) Added Driver combo box to the Control tab dialog.
  153.    This allows the user to select which video capture
  154.    driver they want SpyCam to capture its image from.
  155.    This is only useful to those people who happen to 
  156.    have more than one capture device installed.
  157.  
  158. 2) Created installation program for SpyCam.
  159.  
  160. 3) Added remote dialing capability.  SpyCam can now
  161.    dialup your ISP if need be to upload the image file.
  162.  
  163. 4) Added configurable caption capability for both the
  164.    top and bottom lines of the image.  Either caption
  165.    can include configurable timestamp elements.
  166.  
  167. 5) Added sound effects on image capture.
  168.    (Don't laugh, it was requested by several people :)
  169.  
  170. 6) The Intel USB PC Imaging Camera (others???) seems to have 
  171.    a problem setting the compression field on some video
  172.    for windows calls.  Some ATI TV cards have similar problems.

  179. Fixes/Additions:
  180.  
  181. 1) Plugged a memory leak which caused SpyCam to eat up all of
  182.    the the machines memory eventually.
  183.  
  184. 2) Added the Next Update field to the Control Tab dialog.
  185.    This field displays the next time SpyCam will automatically
  186.    update the image.  This is displayed in local time.
  187.  
  188. 3) Changed the Status field on the Control Tab dialog to display
  189.    the time in local time instead of GMT.
  190.  
  191. 4) Changed the way the SpyCam web page is selected in the About
  192.    dialog.  Instead of a View Web Page pushbutton, the web page
  193.    URL on the dialog operates like a hyperlink in Internet Explorer.
  194.    Select the hyperlink to automatically go to the SpyCam home page.
  195.  
  196. This quick update was unplanned, but necessary to correct the memory
  197. leak problem.  This problem caused machines with small amounts of
  198. memory to die within 2 hours of starting SpyCam.
  199.  
  200. The next release should have the capability to automatically connect
  201. to your ISP to upload an image (if necessary).
