  12. Find++ (32-bit) comes with a lot of new, interesting features! Please
  13. read the Version History below to read about them.

  15. Brief Description of Find++ v2.61
  16. ----------------------------------
  17. Find++ is a useful Windows 95/98/NT shareware utility that gives you a
  18. powerful and friendly tool to find files having a common text across
  19. directories and drives. It's powerful user interface helps you
  20. quickly change all the occurrences of a specified text in your
  21. files. Full context-sensitive help and a small tutorial helps you
  22. grasp its user interface quickly.

  24. Search by specifying multiple file names with or without wild cards
  25. or just drag drop files from the File Manager. Long file names are
  26. supported. You can search for files up to a specified sub directory
  27. depth for each file name specification. By restricting search to a
  28. specified level you can fine tune searches through large media like
  29. CD-ROMS. You can search for a case sensitive, whole word or regular
  30. expression match. Find++'s  regular expressions are similar to those
  31. in MS Word 6.0 and easy to master. You can also specify file
  32. modification dates and minimum and maximum file sizes. Files
  33. matching your search criteria are listed with their full file info's.

  35. Do recursive searches through the listed files with different search
  36. criteria to narrow your search even further. Recursive searches can
  37. help you find word combinations with spaces.

  39. Sort the listed files using the file name, size or date as the sort
  40. key within or across directories. Rename multiple files using
  41. wildcards and special characters. Delete, copy, move or zip
  42. selected files.

  44. Open a file in an edit window along with a numbered line list of the
  45. lines in the file containing the search text. The text contained in 
  46. these lines are highlighted both in the edit window and in the line
  47. list. Double-clicking a line in the line list scrolls the edit 
  48. window to bring the context of that line in the file into view. In
  49. version 2.61 you can edit files upto 2 GB.

  51. The internal editor has a powerful Find/Replace dialog which you
  52. can use to replace text in multiple files. In version 2.61 you can 
  53. confirm every replace or replace all at once in all the files. 
  54. File save after replace can be confirmed for every file or 
  55. optionally after all text in all the files have been replaced.

  57. Optionally, you can use your favorite editor or associated
  58. program to view the file.

  60. Use Find++ to search and replace common text like variable names 
  61. in your programs files with regular expressions. It is also most
  62. useful for editing web site html files as they often have common 
  63. text that needs to be regularly updated.

  102. Installation of Find++ Version 2.61

  105. 1. Unzip FPPV26.ZIP contents to an empty directory.
  106. 2. Run SETUP.EXE in this directory. Find++ Setup will take you through
  107.    a series of dialogs to install Find++ in the directory of your choice.
  108. 3. If Find++ has already been installed in your system, and you wish to
  109.    update your old version, please choose the same folder to install. All
  110.    your old Find++ files will be written over except for your FINDPP32.INI 
  111.    file so that your old Find++ settings will still be retained. 
  112.    However, if you wish to retain your old version, please choose a new 
  113.    folder to install your new Find++ files. You can then uninstall the old 
  114.    version at a later date.
  115.    Note. Users using WinZip can use the Install command after opening the
  116.    FPPV26.ZIP contents in the WinZip window.

  118. Then run FINDPP32.EXE by clicking on its icon in the open Find++ window.
  119. Find++ comes with full context-sensitive help to help to you grasp its
  120. user interface quickly.

  122. Find++ is deemed as shareware and is not free. You may freely distribute
  123. it, however. This copy is fully functional but is for evaluation purposes
  124. only. Users are obliged to register and obtain a license for its use
