All panel types contain an ID Icon button in the upper left corner of the panel. When clicked, the ID Icon pops up a menu of commands which will affect all panels that have the same ID Icon image.
The ID Icon menu commands are:
Show All -- shows (un-hides) all panels with matching ID Icons
Show Only -- shows ONLY panels with matching Icons (all other panels will be hidden)
Hide All -- hides all panels with matching Icons
Close All -- closes all panels with matching Icons. You will get a chance to save any panels that have been changed
You can also activate a control panel's ID Icon menu by right-clicking a blank part of the panel while holding down the <Ctrl> key.
By default, a panel's ID Icon is set to the Toolbar Icon that is used to show or hide panels of it's type. By selecting 'Assign ID Icons' from the Setup menu or by clicking the eye icon on the Toolbar you can make the Icon Palette panel appear. You can then drag any icon from the palette and drop it on any panel's ID icon to change it. In this way you can associate a collection of panels of various types into a linked group for easy access. To restore a panel's default ID Icon, right-click the Icon.
When the Icon Palette is visible you can use it to show all panels with a given ID Icon by left-clicking the icon on the Palette. You cannot hide visible panels with the Icon Palette icons, however. You would do this with the ID Icon menu from a visible panel.
You can, if you wish, change the default icons that appear in the Icon Palette. To do this, right-click an Icon Palette icon. you can then load an icon or bitmap file of your choice. Don't bother using bitmaps larger than 64x64. They will be hopelessly garbled when scaled to fit on a button. To restore the factory default image of an Icon Palette icon you have changed by right-clicking the icon and pressing 'Cancel' in the file selection dialog box. You will then be asked if you want to restore the default image.
