If you have never installed CSE HTML Validator Lite, Standard, or Professional before, then you can ignore the rest of this file and install the software normally. Otherwise, please read the rest of this document.
IF YOU HAVE A 3.0x OR EARLIER VERSION OF CSE HTML VALIDATOR LITE ALREADY INSTALLED
You may uninstall the older version if you wish, but it is not required. CSE HTML Validator Lite v3.5x will install into another directory so that you can continue to use an older version if desired. However, we recommend that you uninstall the previous version before installing the new version because there shouldn't be a need to keep the old version.
IMPORTANT: If you have made changes to the tag inserter configuration file (normally "taginsertercfg.txt") or the CSS inserter configuration file (normally cssinsertercfg.txt), then you should backup that file if you wish to continue using it with v3.5x.
IF YOU HAVE A 3.5x VERSION OF CSE HTML VALIDATOR LITE ALREADY INSTALLED
You should simply reinstall over your current installation, without uninstalling the previous 3.5x version. INSTALL ONLY INTO THE SAME DIRECTORY AS THE 3.5X VERSION THAT IS ALREADY INSTALLED. If you are installing a 3.5x version into a different directory than a previously installed 3.5x version (changing directories is not recommended), then you need to uninstall the previously installed 3.5x version first and then install the new version into the new directory.
IMPORTANT: If you have made changes to the tag inserter configuration file (normally "taginsertercfg.txt") or the CSS inserter configuration file (normally cssinsertercfg.txt), then you should backup that file if you wish to continue using it because it will be overwritten during the installation.
IF YOU HAVE CSE HTML VALIDATOR STANDARD/PROFESSIONAL INSTALLED
You may have both CSE HTML Validator Lite and CSE HTML Validator Standard/Professional installed at the same time so you do not need to uninstall CSE HTML Validator Standard/Professional in order to install CSE HTML Validator Lite. Be sure to install each program/edition into their own separate directories (the default directory for each program is recommended).
