Description
InoculateIT Personal Edition (IPE) is a free antivirus program for your desktop. Computer Associates is offering this as a service for PC users in order to significantly limit the damage to PCs caused by viruses. IPE automatically detects and cleans conventional file and boot sector viruses as well as macro viruses that infect Office 95, Office 98, and Office 2000 Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and Access databases. It provides protection against Internet and email-borne viruses, protecting your PC from infected files downloaded from the Web and from infected attachments sent to you via email.

"Best A/V made - - and it's Free!"
Computer Associates' InoculateIT performs superbly, isn't a memory hog, and doesn't slow system performance (like McAfee, Norton, etc.) CAI is remarkably fast in identifying new viruses, etc. and making updates available via auto-download, email etc., while the other A/V companies are still in the process of trying to identify them. InoculateIT, originally developed and marketed as "Vet" by Cyber Party LTD of Australia, is an outstanding acquisition by Computer Associates and CAI is to be commended for making such a quality application available in the US at no cost. InoculateIT can't be beat, at any cost.
