  24. 1.  WHAT'S ON THE CD-ROM
  25.  
  26. The following versions of ReachOut are included on the 
  27. CD-ROM:

  29.      ReachOut for Windows NT 4.0
  30.  
  31.      ReachOut Passport
  32.  
  33.      ReachOut for Windows 95
  34.  
  35.      ReachOut for Windows & DOS

  37. To install ReachOut from Windows, simply insert the 
  38. CD-ROM and run SETUP from the root folder (for example, 
  39. D:\SETUP). ReachOut Setup automatically detects your 
  40. version of Windows and recommends the appropriate 
  41. version of ReachOut. You will not be able to install a 
  42. version of ReachOut that does not run on your operating 
  43. system.

  45. To install ReachOut for Windows NT, you must be a member 
  46. of the "Administrators" user group or have Administrator 
  47. rights on the Windows NT computer.
  48.  
  49. If you are running Windows NT or Windows 95, you have 
  50. the option of installing ReachOut Passport for remote 
  51. control from within your Web browser.
  52.  
  53. To install ReachOut on a DOS-only computer, or to 
  54. install only DOS support, run SETUPDOS from the root 
  55. folder on the CD-ROM.

  61. 2.  PUTTING REACHOUT ON FLOPPY DISKS
  62.  
  63. If you want to install ReachOut on a computer that 
  64. doesn't have a CD-ROM drive, you may create one set of 
  65. ReachOut floppy disks for your own installation purposes. 
  66. You may not distribute copies to unlicensed ReachOut 
  67. users or install more copies than are allowed by your 
  68. license agreement.

  70. To create the floppy disks, copy the contents of each 
  71. "DISK" folder on the CD-ROM to a 3.5" high-density floppy 
  72. disk and label the disk appropriately. For example, copy 
  73. all the files in "DISK1" to a floppy disk labeled 
  74. "Disk 1". Then run SETUP (or SETUPDOS) from Disk 1.

  80. 3.  PASSWORD COMPATIBILITY WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS

  82. If you plan to make ReachOut connections to Windows NT 
  83. computers from Windows 95 or Windows 3.1x, you should 
  84. update the previous copies of ReachOut to version 7 of 
  85. ReachOut for Windows 95 or ReachOut for Windows & DOS. 
  86. These are both included on the CD-ROM. Be sure you only 
  87. update ReachOut for the same version of Windows, in 
  88. accordance with your license agreement. (For example, if 
  89. a computer has a previous version of ReachOut for 
  90. Windows & DOS already installed, you may install 
  91. version 7 of ReachOut for Windows & DOS on that 
  92. computer, but you may not install ReachOut for 
  93. Windows 95 or ReachOut for Windows NT without purchasing 
  94. an upgrade.)

  96. If you don't update the previous versions, then you must 
  97. define one or more Windows NT user accounts with 
  98. passwords entirely in uppercase letters. Previous 
  99. versions of ReachOut must connect with uppercase 
  100. passwords.

  108. If you have any other remote control software on your 
  109. computer, remove it before installing ReachOut.

  115. 5.  VERSION-SPECIFIC INFORMATION

  117. After you install ReachOut, refer to the README file in 
  118. your ReachOut folder for important information about the 
  119. version of ReachOut you are running.

  125. 6.  READING THE USER'S GUIDE ONLINE
  126.  
  127. The USRGUIDE folder on the CD-ROM contains online 
  128. versions of all the ReachOut User's Guides. To view 
  129. these files, you must install Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0, 
  130. which is included in the ACROBAT subfolder of the 
  131. USRGUIDE folder. Be sure to install the correct version:
  132.  
  133.      * If you are running Windows NT or Windows 95, 
  134.        install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the 32BIT 
  135.        folder.
  136.  
  137.      * If you are running Windows 3.1 (including 
  138.        Windows for Workgroups), install Adobe Acrobat 
  139.        Reader from the 16BIT folder.

  141. Once you've installed the reader, you can view the 
  142. User's Guides by opening the appropriate file from the 
  143. USRGUIDE folder:

  145.      * ROWINNT.PDF  (ReachOut for Windows NT--
  146.                      includes ReachOut Passport)
  147.      * ROWIN95.PDF  (ReachOut for Windows 95)
