-
- 1. WHAT'S ON THE CD-ROM
-
- The following versions of ReachOut are included on the
- CD-ROM:
-
- ReachOut for Windows NT 4.0
-
- ReachOut Passport
-
- ReachOut for Windows 95
-
- ReachOut for Windows & DOS
-
- To install ReachOut from Windows, simply insert the
- CD-ROM and run SETUP from the root folder (for example,
- D:\SETUP). ReachOut Setup automatically detects your
- version of Windows and recommends the appropriate
- version of ReachOut. You will not be able to install a
- version of ReachOut that does not run on your operating
- system.
-
- To install ReachOut for Windows NT, you must be a member
- of the "Administrators" user group or have Administrator
- rights on the Windows NT computer.
-
- If you are running Windows NT or Windows 95, you have
- the option of installing ReachOut Passport for remote
- control from within your Web browser.
-
- To install ReachOut on a DOS-only computer, or to
- install only DOS support, run SETUPDOS from the root
- folder on the CD-ROM.
-
-
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- 2. PUTTING REACHOUT ON FLOPPY DISKS
-
- If you want to install ReachOut on a computer that
- doesn't have a CD-ROM drive, you may create one set of
- ReachOut floppy disks for your own installation purposes.
- You may not distribute copies to unlicensed ReachOut
- users or install more copies than are allowed by your
- license agreement.
-
- To create the floppy disks, copy the contents of each
- "DISK" folder on the CD-ROM to a 3.5" high-density floppy
- disk and label the disk appropriately. For example, copy
- all the files in "DISK1" to a floppy disk labeled
- "Disk 1". Then run SETUP (or SETUPDOS) from Disk 1.
-
-
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- 3. PASSWORD COMPATIBILITY WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS
-
- If you plan to make ReachOut connections to Windows NT
- computers from Windows 95 or Windows 3.1x, you should
- update the previous copies of ReachOut to version 7 of
- ReachOut for Windows 95 or ReachOut for Windows & DOS.
- These are both included on the CD-ROM. Be sure you only
- update ReachOut for the same version of Windows, in
- accordance with your license agreement. (For example, if
- a computer has a previous version of ReachOut for
- Windows & DOS already installed, you may install
- version 7 of ReachOut for Windows & DOS on that
- computer, but you may not install ReachOut for
- Windows 95 or ReachOut for Windows NT without purchasing
- an upgrade.)
-
- If you don't update the previous versions, then you must
- define one or more Windows NT user accounts with
- passwords entirely in uppercase letters. Previous
- versions of ReachOut must connect with uppercase
- passwords.
-
-
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- 4. BEFORE INSTALLING REACHOUT
-
- If you have any other remote control software on your
- computer, remove it before installing ReachOut.
-
-
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- 5. VERSION-SPECIFIC INFORMATION
-
- After you install ReachOut, refer to the README file in
- your ReachOut folder for important information about the
- version of ReachOut you are running.
-
-
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- 6. READING THE USER'S GUIDE ONLINE
-
- The USRGUIDE folder on the CD-ROM contains online
- versions of all the ReachOut User's Guides. To view
- these files, you must install Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0,
- which is included in the ACROBAT subfolder of the
- USRGUIDE folder. Be sure to install the correct version:
-
- * If you are running Windows NT or Windows 95,
- install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the 32BIT
- folder.
-
- * If you are running Windows 3.1 (including
- Windows for Workgroups), install Adobe Acrobat
- Reader from the 16BIT folder.
-
- Once you've installed the reader, you can view the
- User's Guides by opening the appropriate file from the
- USRGUIDE folder:
-
- * ROWINNT.PDF (ReachOut for Windows NT--
- includes ReachOut Passport)
- * ROWIN95.PDF (ReachOut for Windows 95)
- * ROWINDOS.PDF (ReachOut for Windows & DOS)
