  7. This is the Diamond ViperV550 Series Windows 9x Display Drivers
  8. version 4.10.01.0220.
  9.  
  10. Installation Notes
  11. ------------------
  12. These drivers require DirectX 6 to support DirectDraw and Direct3D
  13. applications.
  14.  
  15. It is important to note that any previous version of InControl Tools 
  16. (e.g. InControl Tools 95) must be uninstalled before installation of 
  17. InControl Tools 98 can begin. This can be done from the Control Panel by 
  18.     1.  Choosing 'Add/Remove Programs'.
  19.     2.  Select "Diamond Multimedia Product Installation & Removal".
  20.     3.  Click on the "Add/Remove" button.
  21.     4.  Then follow the uninstall process.

  23. Known Limitations
  24. ------------------
  25. TV Options:
  26.  
  27. To view the TV output section, you must:
  28. 1.  Set the resolution to 640x480.
  29. 2.  Click the right mouse button on the desktop.  This option will 
  30. allow to switch between Monitor(VGA) & TV out
  31.  
  32. NOTE:  You cannot change the resolution when viewing Windows on the TV. The TV 
  33. can only be viewed at 640x480. To change resolution, you must first switch back
  34. to the monitor.

  37. InControl Tools 95 Users:
  38.     
  39. InControl Tools 95 shortcuts are not compatible with Windows 98 and InControl Tools 98.  
  40. These short cuts must be removed prior to the installation of InControl Tools 98.

  44. Preparing to install the Windows 9x Driver
  45. =========================================
  46. Before installing the Viper V550 display drivers, switch your display 
  47. driver to the "Standard VGA".
  48.  
  49. 1. Open your Control Panel and select Display.  
  50. 2. Select the Settings tab and click the Change Display Type button.
  51. 3. Click the Change button.  
  52. 4. Select the Show All Devices radio button and scroll to the top of the 
  53.    left window and select Standard Display Types.  
  54. 5. In the right window select Standard Display Adapter (VGA).  Click OK.

  56. Installing the Windows 9x Driver & InControl Tools 98

  58. 1. Run install.exe from Install and the setup will guide you through the installation.
