  10. XML is the Extensible Markup Language being defined by the SGML Working
  11. Group of the W3C. It is an application profile of SGML, designed to make
  12. it easy and straightforward to use SGML on the Web. It defines an
  13. extremely simple dialect of SGML (which is described in the Draft XML
  14. Specification). The goal is to enable generic SGML to be served,
  15. received, and processed on the Web in the way that is now possible with
  16. HTML.
