  2. <B> Base Directory
  3. <N> Zetafax is usually installed on the file server under a
  4. <N> single base directory.  The installation process creates a
  5. <N> subdirectory structure to hold the various programs and data
  6. <N> files.  Each Zetafax user will also have a directory structure
  7. <N> within this for storage of documents, graphics etc.

  9. <N> We recommend that you make the Zetafax base directory a
  10. <N> subdirectory of the root directory (e.g. F:\ZFAX) rather than
  11. <N> many levels deep, since a number of levels will be created
  12. <N> under it.  The directories will need to be accessed by both
  13. <N> the fax server PC and by the workstations - more details
  14. <N> details of the permissions required are given below, but the
  15. <N> installation program and fax server will require full access
  16. <N> to the base directory.

  18. <B> User File Access
  19. <N> The files used by Zetafax are split between four different
  20. <N> areas, depending on the type of access required by the
  21. <N> workstations.  These are listed below, together with the type
  22. <N> of access required by the workstations to all files and
  23. <N> subdirectories in that area.

  25. <N> There are four main <B>areas <N>within the Zetafax file
  26. <N> structure comprising subdirectories and files.  The following
  27. <N> list gives the access rights or permissions required for
  28. <N> workstations.  You should set up these access rights
  29. <N> if you wish to use all of the permissioning features of
  30. <N> Zetafax.

  32. <B> Server area: zfax\SERVER (workstation access: NONE)
  33. <B> System area: zfax\SYSTEM (workstation access: READ-ONLY)
  34. <B> Users area: zfax\USERS\username (owning user only: FULL)

  37. <N> Provided you are not concerned with privacy between users
  38. <N> it may be simpler to give all users full access to the
  39. <N> complete Zetafax filestructure.
