Transcription: For portraiture, a light up and to the side about 45 degrees is the most reliable lighting technique. The angle of the light models the face into a three-dimensional form and reveals the form and texture of the face, throwing interesting shadows. It is extremely effective when used with the bounce card to fill the shadow created on the dark side of the face.
