  9. Win95 users must and all other users are recommended to close all folders and

  11. applications before proceeding. Macintosh users must turn Virtual Memory "On" 
  12.  
  13. and have 128MB RAM available.  To restart, hit escape key and reinsert CD or 
  14.  
  15. follow instructions below for manually launching a CD.

  18. Welcome to the Betty Crocker ôHoliday Celebrationsö Enhanced CD(E-CD).  E-CDs
  19.  
  20. contain both multimedia material that runs via your CD-ROM and audio material
  21.  
  22. that runs in a standard CD audio player.
  23.

  25. This disc has been designed to automatically start the program after being 
  26.  
  27. placed in your computer. It takes approximately thirty seconds or less for the 
  28.  
  29. program to begin.

  32. This disc is designed to give users the choice to run a Standard or Multimedia
  33.  
  34. version. Both versions have the same information, but the Multimedia version
  35.  
  36. has more animation and other items that require higher end processing power.
  37.  
  38. Our program will check your computer's specification and suggest which selection
  39.  
  40. you should make. If you choose Multimedia and experience slow performance, 
  41.  
  42. restart the program (as described below) and choose Standard. On older computers,
  43.  
  44. and particularly on Windows 95, users may experience slow performance. If so, 
  45.  
  46. make sure that ALL applications are closed BEFORE running the E-CD.

  58. 2. Double-click on ôBettyö CD

  61. Re-insert the CD.

  65. 1. Double-click on ôBettyö CD on desktop.

  111. *All Users: The music may stop and start when you open a browser to view

  113. the recipes or go online. You may also notice that music stops and starts

  115. when you scroll through any web page. You can lower or mute the volume

  117. to minimize the effect.

  120. *PC Users: If problems are still experienced during playback, please
  121.  
  122. restart your computer and close as many applications as possible in 
  123.  
  124. the taskbar (located in the lower right hand corner of your screen).

  127. *Mac users: If you uninstalled Netscape for any reason and are using AOL, you 
  128.  
  129. will need to reinstall Netscape, www.netscape.com. When accessing E-invites, the
  130.  
  131. site will not function properly due to system incompatibility.

  134. *Mac users: After you visit any web page, you may notice that the mouse pointer
  135.  
  136. may stop transitioning to a hand when you roll over program "hot" spots. If you
  137.  
  138. return to the "Historical Advertising" section or restart the program, that
  139.  
  140. functionality will return. There are no other known solutions to this problem,
  141.  
  142. a result of a bug in the authoring program.

  144.  
  145. *Music plays slightly distorted on IBM ThinkPad 770ED Pentium II 266
  146.  
  147. laptop with a Crystal / Cyber9397 Board. We suggest muting the music on
  148.  
  149. this machine.

  151.  
  152. *Win 95 Users: When opening webpages (Recipes, Special Touches, Preparation
  153.  
  154. Guides)from within the program, the Betty window moves to the back of all 
  155.  
  156. other open windows/folders. We suggest closing all applications and folders
  157.  
  158. to ease navigation. If you are running the program, simply click the Alt
  159.  
  160. & Tab keys concurrently to bring up the task bar. Go ahead and close all the
  161.  
  162. open programs other than "Betty."
  163.  
  164.  
  165. Win 95 (Retail Version) Users: When exiting the program you may experience the 
  166.  
  167. following error:

  170. This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
  171. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

  194. *IE 3.0x Users: The Recipe Pages will be slightly skewed, but the recipe

  196. type will remain intact. When accessing "E-invites", the site will not function

  198. properly due to browser incompatibility. We suggest upgrading your browser version

  203. *Netscape 3.0x Users: Recipe pages and cards will print off set. JavaScript

  205. errors will occur when accessing "E-invites". We suggest upgrading your browser

  210. *Netscape 4.01 Users: When opening links from within the Betty program, there 
  211.  
  212. may be a need to double-click from the Netscape browser window into the Betty
  213.  
  214. program to regain functionality.

  217. *Netscape 4.7x (MAC) Users: The outline of a spacing graphic will print in the 
  218.  
  219. cards. There will be a slight break the card outline. We suggest upgrading 
  220.  
  221. your browser version to Netscape 6 for optimal printing.

  224. *Netscape 4.75 Users: If you consistently open and close browser windows 
  225.  
  226. a page fault error occurs. We suggest not closing the Netscape browser window

  228. after initial start up to remedy this problem.

  231. *In Netscape 4.77, 4.51, 4.05 or Internet Explorer 4.051 and 4.05 the recipe

  233. cards will print with broken top/bottom borders. We suggest upgrading your

  238. If your system supports millions of colors, leave the monitor

  240. control panel settings at the highest level for the best quality digital
