- **** MESSAGES & CREDITS
- **** by Stuart Bruce 1995.
-
- Well... it's finally resurfaced, then! All of the instructions and stuff
- are in the other two textfiles within this directory, but here I hope
- you'll excuse me if I indulge myself a little.
-
- First, though, some not-very-interesting information about whom should
- be credited with some of the blame for this production. The answer: me.
- Me. Me me me. It's mine, mine, all mine, dya hear me?!!
-
- That egotism aside, the "MemAlloc" module is from good ol' Acorn
- themselves. What self-respecting BASIC programmer (if there is such a
- thing as a self-respecting BASIC programmer nowadays) could do without
- such a valuable tool?
-
- The original title logo I drew myself using BASIC, it was then
- superimposed onto a ray-traced picture I designed myself. The picture
- was rendered using the PD (I think) program Quick Ray Tracer, but since
- it took over five hours, this is obviously some new definition of the
- word "Quick" that I was not previously aware of.
-
- The sound samples are from here, there and everywhere. I am pretty
- confident that none of them have come from anybody who might possibly
- get narked at their use, though.
-
- Thanks for getting a copy of my game, through fair means or foul. Anyone
- who would like to send me any free money should feel perfectly able to
- do so, please make all cheques payable to "Stuart Bruce" and send them
- to:
-
- Stuart Bruce,
- 6 Sandown Road,
- Hazel Grove,
- Stockport,
- Cheshire.
- SK7 4SH.
-
- This is also the address with which to write to me if you feel like
- chatting away about... well, anything, really. Computing (esp.
- programming, Digital Symphony, PD and some games), Red Dwarf, The
- Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy (join the fan club by getting more
- info from me...), Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Quantum Leap, The Man From
- UNCLE, Dangermouse, blah blah blah. You can probably guess the kind of
- thing. If all else fails, you could just send me a photo of yourself and
- tell me all your girlfriend problems. I'll advise where I can.
-
- Oh yeah, if you have any problems with any of the levels, I'll try and
- help if you drop me a line too. Gosh, I'm a nice guy really, aren't I?
-
- Briefly time now for a quick plug of "Asparagus Mustard", a magazine
- that I presently edit, full of weird information and discussion about
- most of the above subjects and lots more besides. And as if the fact I'm
- in it isn't enough, it's cheap too (unlike myself, of course). Send two
- first class stamps (one for postage, one to cover the cost of the
- 'zine's production itself) to the above address for a sample issue.
- Alternatively, if you're feeling rich, a year's instant subscription
- (six issues including postage) is available for £3.20, cheques payable
- to "Stuart Bruce".
-
- Apologies for the fact most of the dates associated with the high scores
- are wrong, I'm a bit slow when it comes to resetting my clock and even
- slower about replacing the battery inside my computer.
-
- It was inevitable that I'd end up doing the oh-so-original job of
- thanking people and organisations for the completely useless part they
- played in the production of !Brix. Before I start I'd like to point out
- that I actually wrote !Brix all on my very lonesome, and the following
- list of people is not an accurate list of those who helped, but just a
- desperate attempt on my part to make it look as if I've got more friends
- than I actually have.
-
- So, thanks, gratitude and appreciation is levelled in the general
- direction of the following people(s):
-
- Richard Linney, Richard Thompson, Andrew Giblin, Jon Hirst, Gregory
- Short, and my own dear Mum => for not running away screaming at the
- words "would you like to test my game? it won't take long..."
-
- Rachel Oliver, Eleanor Truscott, John Ineson, Will Jessop, Paul Stenson,
- Jess Ridout, Heidi Mounsey, Cerrie Wilkinson => for being people I know,
- and for all being ever so slightly loopy. We get on like a house on fire
- (ie *hot*).
-
- All my favourite bands => for supplying most of the ideas for passwords,
- whether you realise it or not. I would like it known that Haddaway is
- *not* included in that category (there- that's a clue for one of the
- passwords for you).
-
- Richard Linney => for managing to get himself mentioned in this
- gratitude list for no readily apparent reason.
-
- All the rest of my friends => for not making this gratitude list nearly
- long enough. Sigh.
-
- And last and not least Pseudonym => for actually being me. It's a
- pseudonym (ahem) that I've used for almost two years now, actually. For
- a full explanation send a *big* SAE...
-
- Still reading this? HA! More fool you. You have therefore proved
- yourself worthy of the title "quite sad"; however, if you wish to
- progress beyond this rather amateur (yet not to be sniffed at) award and
- onto the *real* honours, such as "totally twisted geezer", then you will
- just have to write to me personally. Don't be intimidated... I'm not
- *really* mad... honest...
-
- Let me come with you... I can see, I can see perfectly...
