  3. Have you ever wondered how long you spend on your computer, or out of that  time how long you spend on DTP, creative art, accounts or playing games?

  35. !TaskMon monitors the use of tasks (applications and modules)
  36. and records the time during which each is active.  For a complete
  37. record it should be installed in your Boot file.  Provided that you
  38. shut down in the approved manner (i.e. <CTRL/SHIFT F12> or by
  39. selecting <SHUTDOWN> from the Task Manager menu) data will be saved
  40. automatically from session to session.

  42. The Menus:
  43.   Clicking on the icon bar icon with the middle button will show the
  44.   following menus:
  45.   Info: 
  46.     The usual information about the program.
  47.   List Options: This leads to a sub-menu allowing you to choose to
  48.     list current applications, modules or both. 
  49.   Full List: Clicking on this will open a window showing the date 
  50.     !TaskMon was first started (or the last reset) and the length of time
  51.     each task has been running since that date, plus the total time
  52.     your machine has been in use since that date. NB these times do
  53.     not include data for the current session.  These will be added
  54.     when you shut down.  
  55.     If you wish to remove a task from your record, click <SELECT> on
  56.     the icon on its right.  The task name will be greyed out and will
  57.     be deleted from the list next session.
  58.     If you wish to remove all tasks and reset the start time, click
  59.     <ADJUST>  on the Reset icon.  The will delete all previous data
  60.     and the new start time will be the time you next boot up your
  61.     machine.
  62.   Current List:
  63.     This will open a window listing current applications and the time
  64.     they have been active.  The list will contain applications,
  65.     modules or both depending on which option you selected.  By
  66.     default it lists applications only.  The window also shows the time
  67.     since your machine was switched on.
  68.   Help:
  69.     Will remind you of some of the above. 
  70.   Quit: quits the application, saves data from the current session and
  71.     adds it to data from previous sessions.

  73. Other features:

  75. Warning:
  76.      TaskMon will record up to 50 tasks.  If you already have 43 or more you 
  77.      will be warned to remove some existing tasks.  If you wish to record more
  78.      than 50, you can increase the value of the first element of the array <full$> 
  79.      in line 50 of !RunImage.  Then change the value of limit% in line 90 to
  80.      something appropriate.  
  81.      You may then need to increase the size of the Wimpslot in the !Run file.

  83. Log:
  84.        A separate record of start time, finish time and the length for each session
  85.        is kept in a text file in the !TaskMon directory.  To read it open the
  86.        directory and double click on "log".  
  87.        
  88. Reset:
  89.        As stated above, clicking on the Reset button will delete data for all 
  90.        previous sessions.  To avoid losing data by mistake you have to use
  91.        <ADJUST>  to do this.  If you click on Reset with <SELECT> a reminder
  92.        will appear.
