- Dear David Holden,
-
- I should be glad if you would like to distribute the enclosed archive as
- Shareware, after you have removed the files !jgp.Tools.JGEd and ...JGPrint. For
- these two files I make a charge as detailed in JGLicence. I provide the files
- JGSharEd and JGSharePr which provide restricted use of my editor and Printer
- Layout. More detail is to be found in the documentation. Please use JGEd and
- JGPrint for review purposes.
-
- I should be glad to have these programs entered into your 'Public Domain'
- competition.
-
- If there are formal arrangements to be made for the above purposes, perhaps you
- would be so kind as to let me know, so that I can carry them out.
-
- With so large a program, there will inevietably be bugs that I know about, and
- others that have not yet hit me. I append a list of problems I know about.

- \s1|File types etc.
-
- I have not yet registered my Filetypes and System Variables with Acorn, and
- therefore these are subject to revision. Changing Filetypes will not require
- changes to the code, but only to !boot, !run and the Template File.

- \s1|!jgpcopy and !jgp
-
- If !jgpcopy is running, and you click on !jgp, the machine siezes up until you
- press escape. It is not likely that people will want to do so. I have put a bug
- note in !jgpcopy to prompt for it.

- \s1|Landscape
-
- I have not yet worked on the landscape arrangements in JGPrint. I do not forsee
- any difficulties, but that does not mean there will not be any.

- \s1|BJ-10e
-
- I have not yet had the use of a printer to test this configuration.

- \s1|The Caret
-
- It is awkward to find the caret, particularly if you have done some find into
- the middle of the screen. I tried to reset the pointer to go to where the caret
- was (converse of Mouse-select click, reset caret where pointer is), but got wimp
- complaints. I am reserving SHIFT-F7 for it. In the mean time, use CONTROL-F11.
- This will stop Wimp-Sharing, but replaces the (slightly overlarge) caret with
- the winking cursor. However, it stops wimp-sharing and should be switched off
- with Control-F11 as soon as possible.

- \s1|Printer character sets
-
- In JGEd, SHIFT-F7 now switches on and off a window that shows the characters
- outside 32-126. cp/<file>/ brings in a specification of characters, optionally
- including 0-31 and 127, built by the auxiliary !jgmkchars. The file pc-8
- contains those for the default Deskjet printer. pq cancels.

- \s1|File names too long, etc.
-
- I fail to catch some malformed file names when saving or writing in JGEd.
-

- \s1|Command Line operation.
-
- The current version is only operational in the desktop, and not in the command
- line.
