  4. This program demonstrates the use of 3D bordered icons and other validation
  5. commands on RISC OS 3.
  6.  
  7. When it is run, a window appears in the middle of the screen.  This is the
  8. introductory window.  Clicking on the icon at the bottom-right-hand corner
  9. of the window starts the demonstration.
  10.  
  11. The demonstration takes place in a small window of fixed size.  The arrows
  12. (⇩⇩⇩) indicate that to get to the next "page" you must click in the relevant
  13. part of the scroll bar, which moves the window down by the size of the
  14. window.  Some of the pages are interactive; they allow you to try out things
  15. for yourself.  After the first column of information, the window is scrolled
  16. back to the top (or rather it tells you to do it!) and then the second part
  17. starts.  This part is quite technical and explains the validation commands
  18. required for these effects to be put into your own icons.  At the bottom of
  19. this column is an icon marked 'Prog. Info'.  In the complete version of the
  20. demonstration, it will open up the standard info box with 3-D icons (of
  21. course!).

  23. Clicking on the CLOSE icon of the main window closes it and re-opens the
  24. introductory window.  Clicking on the CLOSE icon of this quits the program
  25. removing it from memory.
