  10. Risc Mag is a (new) disc magazine for RISC OS.
  11. Risc Mag is 100% multi tasking, all articles
  12. are displayed using outline fonts, sprites and
  13. drawfiles in windows on the desktop.
  14.  
  15. Loading
  16. -------
  17. To load Risc Mag, double click on it's icon in
  18. the directory display. If all goes well, the icon
  19. should appear on the icon bar.
  20.  
  21. Using
  22. -----
  23. A single click on the icon bar icon should open the
  24. contents page, a further click on the contents icon
  25. on the title page will open a menu of all the articles
  26. in this issue. When you select an article to read, it's
  27. name should appear in the current article icon. To read
  28. the article simply click on the Read Page button.
  29. TO play the music supplied with the magazine, click on
  30. the music button in the contents window.
  31. To access the PD software, the example WIMP programs etc.
  32. click on the magazine controls button and a small control
  33. pannel will open.

  35. Help
  36. ----
  37. Risc Mag, naturally supports interactive help so if you 
  38. have any problems, load !Help in.

  40. Errors
  41. ------
  42. If on loading Risc Mag says 'Unable to bind font handle
  43.  (internal code xxx)' then simply increase the fontcache
  44. slightly. (Use the Task Manager)
  45.  
  46. RiscPC
  47. ------
  48. Risc Mag is compatible with (and was developed on) the
  49. Risc PC 600. One point; sometimes the desktop font reverts 
  50. to the system font, I don't know why, there's nout in the
  51. PRMs about that. However, press F12 then Return to restore
  52. it.

  54. Compatiblilty
  55. -------------
  56. Risc Mag has been tested on:
  57.  RISC OS 3.11    A3020
  58.  RISC OS 3.50    RiscPC 600
  59.  
  60. It should be compatibile with RISC OS 2, and judging
  61. by the information supplied to me by Acorn it will work
  62. on RISC OS 3.60 (supplied with the A7000 and Risc PC 700)
  63.  
  64. Only 1 mega byte of RAM is required (altough not much else
  65. will run at the same time) future issue may become too large
  66. and may require 2 mega bytes.
