  8. Introduction

  10. This disk contains various fractal programs, some full blown applications,
  11. others small basic programs which are excellent material for exploring
  12. lesser known fractal areas. Documentation is rather limited in some cases
  13. but one of the various books on fractals will help to explain the notions
  14. behind the routines.
  15.  
  16. Remember that many full sized programs originated in this way, and often the
  17. only difference is the lack of a desktop interface. Here is your chance to
  18. make a name for yourself by adding the necessary desktop code to produce a
  19. new application.
  20.  
  21. There is also many Mandelbrot programs on this disk. Some of them
  22. contain the source code. I have made some small modifications where
  23. necessary to support running from the desktop, and have added some basic
  24. help text where none is supplied.
  25.  
  26. All the applications have been compressed but may be run using ArcFS. To use
  27. them load !ArcFS first to allow their directory to be opened. To permanently
  28. decompress them, drag the Application icon from !ArcFS to a new disk.
