  12. What it does

  14. !WhatFile is an application which provides a useful way of identifying files
  15. dragged to its icon.

  17. How to use it
  18. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  19. First, double-click on its icon in a Filer window.  The !WhatFile icon will
  20. load onto the iconbar in standard fashion.  At this stage, WhatFile doesn't
  21. do anything, but if you drag a file to it's icon, it will tell you what it
  22. is (hopefully).

  24. !WhatFile currently supports 140 filetypes.  If you wish to add more to the
  25. ones currently supported, hold down SHIFT and double-click on !WhatFile.

  27. Load the file called "FileTypes" into a text editor of some sort, eg. Zap,
  28. Edit etc..  Move to the "alphabetical" position of your filetype, (so, for
  29. example if your type was &ABC, you would move to inbetween ABB and ABD) type
  30. in the filetype in UPPER CASE, followed by a colon, and then followed by a
  31. textual description of the type eg. Text, Sprite etc....

  49. Known bugs
  50. ~~~~~~~~~~
  51. There are no known bugs at the moment.  I have tested it thoroughly.  It
  52. should work on RISC OS 2, but you need to have a copy of the MessageTrans
  53. module loaded (built-in on RISC OS 3 and 3.5).
