  4. €INTRODUCTION☓
  5.  
  6. InfoFile is a simple application; you can use it to display info
  7. about applications, directories or any file type. This application
  8. has been designed to operate in the multitasking window environment
  9. of the RISC-OS desktop.
  10.  
  11. €LOADING APPLICATION☓
  12.  
  13. Insert ◰InfoFile☓ disc in the drive. Click with Select on the drive
  14. icon in the iconbar to open the disc directory window. Double click
  15. with Select on the ◰!InfoFile☓ icon. The application instals its icon
  16. in the iconbar.
  17.  
  18. €USE INFOFILE☓
  19.  
  20. Drag the icon of an application, directory or file on the ◰InfoFile☓
  21. icon in the iconbar or on the ◰InfoFile☓ window. The program shows
  22. the file name in the title bar of the ◰InfoFile☓ window; the type,
  23. size and date of the file in the first three icons and the files
  24. and directories number in the last two.

  26. €OPTIONS☓
  27.  
  28. Click with Select on the ◰Options☓ item in the iconbar menu to open
  29. the ◰Options☓ window.
  30.  
  31. Switch on the ◰Include directory size☓ button to include the size of
  32. any directory (4096 bytes) in the file size. Switch off the button
  33. to exclude this size.
  34.  
  35. Switch on the ◰Save as Comma Separated Value☓ button to save the data
  36. in the CSV format, compatible a wide range of other applications.
  37. Switch off the button to save the data as plain text (ASCII) and
  38. therefore compatible with !Edit and a wide range of other
  39. applications.

  41. Switch on the ◰Save with date☓ button to include the file date in the
  42. data to save. Switch off the button to exclude the file date.
  43.  
  44. Switch on the ◰Use outline fonts☓ button to use the outline fonts in
  45. the icons of the program windows. Switch off the button to use the
  46. system fonts.

  48. Click with Select on the ◰Save☓ button in the ◰Options☓ window to save
  49. the choices. Click on the ◰Cancel☓ button to close the ◰Options☓
  50. window.

  52. €SAVE DATA☓
  53.  
  54. In the iconbar menu move the pointer on the ◰Save☓ item arrow to open
  55. the ◰Save☓ window. In the ◰Save☓ window type in a valid file name in
  56. the writable icon and drag the file icon from the ◰Save☓ window to a
  57. directory viewer. To save an already saved file click with Select
  58. on the ◰OK☓ button in the ◰Save☓ window or press Return when the caret
  59. is in the file name icon.

  63. Click with Select on the ◰Clear☓ item in the iconbar menu. In the
  64. alert box click on ◰YES☓ button to delete all data. Click on ◰NO☓
  65. button to abort the option.

  69. For further help on using ◰InfoFile☓ use the Acorn ◰!Help☓ application
  70. found in ◰RISC-OS Applications Disc 1☓ (RISC OS 2) or in ◰Resources☓

  75. In the iconbar menu click with Select on the ◰Quit☓ option.
