  3. PROTOTYPE VERSION:

  5. There are four main progs, MENU, ENTER, SEARCH and
  6. DELETE, and a data file, "text".             
  7.  
  8. text: If this does not exist, it must be created before
  9. you start. Decide on how many lines altogether, (eg 
  10. between 50-5000).
  11. Click on the !texbase icon, this will bring up a menu, 
  12. and if text does not exist, the program will stop. This
  13. is OK. Now start again, but Shift/click on !Texbase to
  14. open up the directory window. Click on Build.

  16. MENU: Just a way of starting! The original needed it for
  17. pragmatic reasons!

  19. ENTER: A word processor, but the text is saved in the
  20. same file, called "text". Each piece of work is called
  21. a page. You need a key strip, also note that PRINT
  22. (to the right of the f keys) is also used. Try
  23. using the cursor keys with CTRL and SHFT to learn
  24. what they do!
  25. NOTE-sometimes a question is asked of you! It will be
  26. seen on the ruler. You must choose some of your entered
  27. text as keywords before you save. Place the cursor at the
  28. start of a word, and press shft/f8. You cannot delete a
  29. single keyword, but you can delete them all! (Sh/f6)  You
  30. can edit a previous entry, but not enlarge it, ie add to
  31. it. (It has to fit back into the same disc space).

  33. SEARCH: this looks for a "page", by the use of the keyword.
  34. When found, you can save it to disc as an ascii file. 
  35. You can dump the page to a printer. It used the old fashioned
  36. method. There may be embedded printer codes. They are standard,
  37. so should not cause trouble, unless you buy a nonstandard
  38. printer.

  40. DELETE: this removes an entry, (ie a "page") and shuffles the
  41. rest down as it were.
