  1. The program !Pal256 is provided for use with !Widget5 on machines fitted with
  2. the VIDC20 graphics chip (Risc PC and A7000).

  4. This program allows the colours in the "256 Greys" mode to be programmed so
  5. that they contain the 8 Wimp colours with the remaining 248 as a greyscale.

  7. This allows 256 level greyscale images to be viewed with no noticeable
  8. difference, but the Desktop colours to be seen at the same time.
