- ReadMe Interdictor II version 1.3 (Risc PC)

- When the program starts up you will be asked to click on a button
- corresponding to a colour with a <letter> <number> reference. This is a
- colour chart in the Interdictor printed manual. As the printed manual is
- not included with this version the Drawfile "Chart" is provided. Tiy
- will need to print this before you can run !Interdictor, and as many
- users may not have a colour printer the colours Red, Yellow, White and
- Blue are represented by the letters R, Y, W and B.

- Please note. The Risc PC does not have a hash (#) key on the numeric
- keypad. This key is used to return to the map page. On the Risc PC, use
- the keyboard * instead.

- When Interdictor II starts up, you are placed in the map page. To start
- the simulation, press the Enter key on the keypad.

- Please note that engine noise is OFF by default and can be activated by
- pressing 'N'

- As explained in the manual, an aircraft will stall if the angle of
- attack exceeds a critical value. This usually happens when speed is
- decreasing and angle of attack becomes high as the pilot attempts to
- maintain altitude. There is however another situation in which stalling
- can occur. This is during high speed, high g turns. In these
- circumstances the lower wing can stall. This phenomenon is know as
- 'departure'.

- Jet engines function by burning a mixture of fuel and air. As altitude
- increases, the density of the atmosphere decreases and eventually a
- point is reached at which the oxygen content of the atmosphere is
- insufficient to sustain combustion. The engine will then cut out. The
- altitude at which this occurs depends on the characteristics of the
- particular jet engine used and determines the maximum altitude to which
- the aircraft can fly. In the case of the aircraft model used in
- Interdictor II this is about 40,000ft. Once the engine has cut out, you
- must decend to below 40,000ft and restart the engine.
