Make sure !SerialDev has been seen by the filer.

Run Chocks Away Extra Missions (!Chocks_2) on BOTH computers.

Click the button on the main screen labelled “LINKUP: UNCONNECTED”.

This will take you to the screen pictured above.

Make one machine the server and one the client by clicking on the box marked “SERVER”.

Check that the settings for the driver are the same as in the image above.*

Click OK in the serial port setup box.

Then on the CLIENT machine ONLY click the button marked “CONNECT”.

On both machines click on the button marked “EXIT”.

The linkup status should now say “LINKUP: CONNECTED”. If it does not then repeat steps 3-9 checking that the serial port setting are correct. The BAUD speed must be the same on both computers.

Once the linkup is established the client will no longer be able to change the map or select “PRACTICE”, “DOG FIGHT” or “MISSIONS”. This can now only be done by the server machine.

*The BAUD rate does not have to be the same as it is in the image above. However both client and server must have the same speed. The higher the baud rate the faster the data is passed between the computers.

Thanks to Alex MacFarlane Smith for his work on rewriting Chocks Away Extra Missions to allow full use of the serial link.
