  25. This CD has been designed for everyone who wants a collection of clip
  26. art and illustrations for their Archimedes or Risc PC. Most of the
  27. contents are Sprite and Drawfiles suitable for incorporating into
  28. documents using Impression, Ovation, or one of the many other graphics
  29. packages available. There is also a large collection of high quality
  30. colour images, all supplied ready to use in Acorn Sprite format.

  32. Much of the material has been selected with a view to its usefulness to
  33. schools, clubs, and local magazines, although whatever your needs there
  34. is bound to be a great deal that you will find useful. There is a lot
  35. of clip art available for Acorn computers but most of it, although of
  36. very high quality, is quite expensive. This CD tries to provide you with
  37. a huge collection at very low cost.

  41.         Licence to use the APDL Clip Art CD

  43. Purchase of this CD gives the purchaser the right to use it on any
  44. single computer. APDL does not claim Copyright over any of the material
  45. contained on this disc, most of which has been collected over many years
  46. and donated by a variety of persons. We therefore place no restriction
  47. upon the use of the material on the CD other than restrictions which the
  48. original Author may impose. This applies especially to items in the
  49. SHAREWARE directory, all of which contain explanatory text files.

  54. We have tried to ensure that all material is either Public Domain,
  55. Freeware, Shareware, or for other reasons may be freely distributed.
  56. Unlike most material, the origins of a piece of computer artwork is
  57. often difficult to ascertain, and if we have erred please be assured
  58. that we have acted in good faith and taken all reasonable precautions to
  59. ensure that no Copyright material has been included. If you do recognise
  60. any of your own work on this CD and are not happy, for any reason, for
  61. it to be included than please contact APDL and it will be removed from
  62. any future versions. We apologise in advance if this should happen, but
  63. I am sure you will appreciate that it is impossible to be 100% certain
  64. of the status of many unsigned items. We ask you to be generous and
  65. forgiving if we have made a mistake - it wasn't deliberate!

  68.         Use on a Network

  70. A free Licence to use the APDL Clip Art CD on a Network will normally be
  71. granted to a state run, non fee paying, school or college, registered
  72. charity, user group, or other non profit making organisation, within the
  73. United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland. This Licence is not
  74. automatic, and you must apply in writing to APDL on the appropriate
  75. form, which is the text file 'NETWORK'. If you fulfil the above
  76. conditions there is usually no fee for the Licence but we do charge a
  77. £1 administration fee, which must be enclosed with your application.

  79. If you do not fit the conditions for a free Licence then please apply on
  80. the same form, describing fully your circumstances, and include an SAE
  81. for our reply. We will advise you of a suitable Licence fee. Normally
  82. this will be granted without charge or only a nominal fee unless we
  83. think you are using the CD for commercial gain, in which case we shall
  84. charge a fee appropriate for the value we believe you are obtaining.

  86. We reserve absolutely the right to refuse a Network Licence to any
  87. person or organisation.

  89. Using the CD on a network without a Licence is a breach of Copyright.

  91. Making the APDL Clip Art CD available over any Public Access Network,
  92. Bulletin Board, or any similar means is EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN without an
  93. appropriate Licence. If you wish to obtain a Licence apply on the
  94. NETWORK form and also supply full details of your situation, including
  95. any fees payable, download charges, etc.

  102. improving, categorising, and otherwise producing the contents of this CD

  105. praise and thanks. If there are omissions, errors or mistakes, then they
  106. are probably mine.
