Transcription: After the conquest of Tiers, Alexander continued his descent to Egypt. He was in the middle of his course when he arrived at Gaza and camped outside the city walls. Vadis, the commander of Gaza, had summoned Arab missionaries to strengthen the city's defense forces. Alexander deceived Gaza for two months and he eventually conquered it at the fourth attack. Almost all the missionaries were killed, while the few who survived were were sold as slaves with the rest of the inhabitants of Gaza.
