Transcription: Right after the siege of Miletus, Alexander was in control of the coast of Asia Minor, so he disbanded his fleet. He believed that the maintenance of all the ships was uneconomical. Alexander's next objective was Alcarnassus, where he camped at a relatively short distance from the city. The siege of Alcarnassus, however, was not an easy task, as the city was supported by strong fortifications and a large number of patient troops after a series of brief battles that lasted for a few days, Alcanasus was at a dead end.
