Transcription: The attack was very intense and despite the Thebans' resistance, Alexander's army soon took over the city. Approximately 3000 Thebans were killed in battle and at least as many were sold as slaves. The fate of Thebans was left in the hands of the Corinth Congress who decided to tear down the city except for the temples.
