Transcription: While Alexander was engaged in conducting war with the enemies in the north, there was great restlessness in Thebes. His long absence from Pella initiated rumors that the Macedonian king was dead. The news traveled fast within Alexander's antagonistic cycles, anti-Macedonians, who had not ceased acting to his disadvantage in most of the cities of Elas. The anti-Macedonian sovereigns had already returned to Thebes and started to lay out the plans to persecute.
