Transcription: After Philip's assassination, Alexander came to the throne with the help of Antipater and Parmenion in the bloody purge of the succession. It was the autumn of 336 BC. Having already proved his diplomatic skills at the time of his regency, Alexander assured the Macedonian people that nothing had changed in the state except the king's name. Several Newtonians birthed in barbarian neighbouring countries soon after Alexander's ascent to the throne. The young king, however, chose first to stabilize his position within his country.
