  16. The following additions and changes have been made to the game 
  17. since the manual was written. We hope these improvements will 
  18. enhance game play.

  23. MUSIC VOLUME
  24.  
  25. Pressing the Plus key '+' or Minus Key '-' while playing
  26. X-COM: Terror From the Deep will increase or decrease the in-
  27. game music volume.
  28.  
  29. WEAPONS    
  30.  
  31. Certain X-COM weapons are designed strictly for underwater use.
  32. These are the Hydro-Jet Cannon, the Torpedo Launcher, and the 
  33. Coelacanth/Aqua Jet SWS. This is important to note when arming 
  34. for terror missions.

  36. TWO PART MISSIONS
  37.  
  38. To enhance the challenge, artifacts from the first part of a 
  39. two part mission are not recovered.

  44. HARD DISK REQUIREMENTS
  45.  
  46. The floppy disk version of X-COM: Terror From the Deep requires
  47. approx 15 Megabytes of Hard disk space. The CD-ROM version 
  48. requires approx 4 Megabytes.
  49.  
  50. CD-ROM VERSION
  51.  
  52. X-COM: Terror From the Deep requires a CD-ROM with 280K/s 
  53. throughput (double speed) to play the animations. If you have 
  54. a slower CD-ROM drive then a slide show of the animations will 
  55. play.
  56.  
  57. If at a later point you upgrade your CD-ROM to a faster drive 
  58. then run CDSPEED.EXE from the main TFTD directory which will
  59. re-test the CD-ROM speed.
  60.  
  61. INSTALLATION
  62.  
  63. If you choose to install X-COM: Terror From the Deep under one
  64. directory heading (ex. C:\TFTD) and not in a sub-directory 
  65. (ex. C:\MPS\TFTD), an error message "file can not be installed 
  66. onto itself . . ." will appear on the screen. Our games are 
  67. designed to install to a sub-directory, therefore any deviation
  68. may cause a message to appear. Disregard this message, it will 
  69. have no effect on gameplay. 
  70.  
  71. SOUND
  72.  
  73. 1. Gravis Ultrasound is supported in this version of 
  74.    X-COM: Terror From the Deep. To play music on the Ultrasound
  75.    you must have a full set of midi patches supplied with your
  76.    card on your hard drive.
  77.  
  78. 2. If you wish to change the sound configuration, after initial
  79.    installation, run the setup program in your TFTD directory.
  80.  
  81.  
  82. COMPRESSION SOFTWARE
  83.  
  84.   If you are using Stacker, DOS 6's Double/Drive Space, or some
  85.   other hard drive compression utility, X-COM: Terror From the
  86.   Deep will appear to use more than the amount of space the 
  87.   Install utility checks for.  This is because the program 
  88.   files are already compressed, and your compression utility 
  89.   will not be able to get the usual space savings.
