- Have you ever gone to the RACE TRACK to place a bet on yoor favorite
- horse, but you were not sure whether to bet the horse to WIN, PLACE, OR SHOW ?
-
- Well...
-
- This program was created to help you make that decision. All of us gamblers
- have one thing in common, we want the highest return possible with the
- least amount of risk. By using this program you will at least have a
- pretty good idea of just how much that show bet is going to pay.
-
-
-
-
-
- ********* HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM ********
-
- 1st get the sports section of your newspaper out because you are going
- to be entering data from it.
-
- 2nd Turn on your computer system and type PAYOFF
-
- 3rd determine what race track you are entering data from. Enter the
- name of the track when prompted to do so. The program will now
- create a data file for the particular race track that you chose.
-
-
-
-
-
- 4th you are now at the main menu screen
- The options are...
- 1. ADD DATA
- 2. PRINT CHART
- 3. PROBABILITY CHART
- 4. QUIT
- Choose option #1
- Now look in today's sport section for the previous day's race results.
- Look for the winner of the first race.
-
-
-
- You will first enter the odds for the particular entry
- Ranging from EVEN MONEY (or less) to 10-1
- Odds can be entered in one of three formats
-
- 1. 3.5
- 2. 7/2
- 3. 7-2
-
- All of these three entries represent the same odds
- It is best to use the same format that your local sports section uses.
-
- Remember, you are only entering data for horses that finished in the money.
-
- If the ODDS of an IN THE MONEY horse are higher than 9.5-1 then go
- to the next IN THE MONEY horse to enter data for.
-
- After the closing odds for a money wining horse have been entered,
- You will now be asked if you are entering place data or show data.
- If the horse came in 1st or 2nd you will enter P
- If the horse came in 3rd you will enter S
-
-
-
- If you chose place you will be shown the average payoff for the odds
- you entered based on the number of entries.
- You should now enter the place payoff for this particular horse.
- There is no need to enter the dollar sign. 4.20 works just as well as $4.20
-
- Do the same for the show payoff
-
- You will now be asked DO YOU WISH TO CONTINUE Y/N?
- If there are more entries to be made choose Y
- You should enter data on every in the money entry in the paper providing
- that the entry's odds are not out of range and that no fewer than 5 or
- no more than 16 entries were in the race.
-
-
-
- When you are finished entering data for the session and you are asked
- DO YOU WISH TO CONTINUE Y/N?
- You should choose N and then your file will be saved to disk.
-
- You can update the file anytime by re-running the Payoff program and
- choosing the same race track.
-
- It is a good idea to update your data files often. The more you update
- your files the more acurate they will become.
-
-
- PRINTING A REPORT
-
- 1st Run the program
- 2nd Choose the track from the file list.
- (It will now be loaded into memory)
- 3rd Turn on your line printer.
- 4th Choose option #2 from the main menu.
-
- ****** BAR CHART ******
-
- Option #3 shows a bar chart displaying payoff distribution.
-
- ******* Now here is the sales pitch ******
-
- Payoff interfaces with a handicaping program called RAABS
- Which stands for Race Analysis And Betting System
-
- RAABS has several important features which seperates it from
- other handicapping systems.
-
- 1. RAABS automaticaly stores all race data to disk
- 2. RAABS analizes it's own performance
- 3. RAABS rates jockeys in two ways (long term) (current)
- 4. RAABS will tell you the best possible bet to make for any
- given situation based on the following...
- a. Closing odds for the pick
- b. No. of entries in the race
- c. Payoff data ( Obtained from the payoff program )
- d. RAABS past performance in similar races
