-
- Your LEVEL is a measure of you experience. Higher LEVELs give more HEALTH
- and STAMINA points and improve your skills.
- HEALTH is a measure of how much damage you can take before dying. HEALTH
- is based upon VIGOR and LEVEL
- STAMINA is a measure of how often you can attack or use spells before
- having to take a break from combat. STAMINA is based upon your STRENGTH.
-
- STRENGTH has effect on damage done with weapon attacks. It also allow you
- to carry more without losing AGILITY.
- AGILITY has an effect on offensive spellcasting abilities and your ability
- to dodge attacks from monsters.
- REASON has an effect on all spellcasting abilities and their results.
- VIGOR has an effect on your maximum HEALTH.
-
- There are four different kinds of armor. They are in the order that
- they appear: Physical, Fire, Electrical, and Poison. Note that clothing
- will give certain protection in each of the categories. Poison includes
- death spells and chemical attacks such as venomous clouds. If you are
- hit for damage, then an "X" will appear in each corner. A gold "X" is
- a magical attack. Physical armor only offers half protection against this.
- A grey "X" is physical damage. A red "X" is fire damage. A Blue "X" is
- electrical damage. A green "X" is chemical or death magic damage.
-
- The number following the small white box symbol is the total weight of what
- you are carrying. If this number exceeds your STRENGTH, then your AGILITY will
- be lowered.
- The number following the tiny sword is the total damage done to monsters in the
- last instant. This helps you determine the usefullness of different weapons and
- spells.
-
- In the upper right you will see 4 vertical bars. These are your status bars.
- In all cases the higher the bars the better off you are. The green bar is your
- current HEALTH. If it drops below zero, then you will die. The red bar is your
- remaining STAMINA. If it drops to zero, then you will be unable to attack or
- cast spells till some of your STAMINA returns. The brown bar is your food and
- affects natural healing. The blue bar is your water and affects natural recovery
- of STAMINA.
-
- To attack a creature, click on the sword Icon. A slash mark will appear
- on the screen when you attack. The item that is enlarged and displayed in
- the lower right corner is your main weapon. If you do not have a weapon
- in that hand then bare-handed combat is used.
-
- To prepare a spell, you must click on some of the spell symbols, The symbols
- you click on will appear in the upper left corner below your status bars.
- To cast a prepared spell, click on the white diamond inside the spell symbols.
- For instance, to cast a shield spell:
- Click on the tiny brown diamond symbol, the symbol should appear below
- your status bars. Now, click on the large white diamond. Your armor
- should improve by one or more points.
- If you see the spell in a book and you can't seem to cast it, try again when
- your stamina is higher.
-
- To use the special magic of an item (if any) then select on the white diamond.
- Note some items are one-shot. There are no multi-use items, although some items
- are infinite use. It is not possible to use an item while a spell is prepared.
-
- To open a door, click on it with the mouse. Some doors are locked and require a
- key to open. Hold the key and click on the door with it. You can drink directly
- from a well by clicking on the water. All water is slightly magical and will
- give you back a tiny amount of HEALTH and STAMINA when drank from the well.
-
- In a land far away a powerful wizard enchanted his life force
- into a golden skull and proclaimed himself to be a god. Your
- job is defeat him and banish him from your waking nightmares.
- WELCOME TO DAYMARE 2
-
- HELPFUL HINTS:
- 1) Get a character with good vigor. Health points are great for
- staying alive.
-
- 2) Learn what to do with your treasure. Its not just there for
- decoration.
-
- 3) Watch your food and water. This affects your recovery of
- health and stamina.
-
- 4) You will need to find keys to open certain doors.
-
- 5) Learn the monsters weak spots. Many monsters are immune to
- certain attack forms. It is quite futile to try to kill the walking
- dead with a death spell.
-
- 6) Many ordinary looking items actually have special powers.
-
- 7) Some levels regenerate monsters. You can never clean them up.
-
- 8) The goal of the game is to kill the floating gold skull on the
- top level. There are 8 levels in the game. I promise a better plot
- in Daymare 3.
-
- 9) All the water wells are slightly magical. You can slowly heal
- yourself and restore stamina by drinking water from them.
