  10. The Enhanced Print Troubleshooter is a diagnostic tool developed by 
  11. the Decision Theory Group at Microsoft Research and Microsoft 
  12. Product Support Services.  The Enhanced Print Troubleshooter uses 
  13. probabilities and costs associated with different faults to generate
  14. a list of recommended troubleshooting steps.  When you run the 
  15. Enhanced Print Troubleshooter, the list of recommendations is 
  16. regenerated after each question is answered, based on what the 
  17. system knows about the problem you are having and the printing 
  18. configuration.

  21. HOW TO INSTALL

  23. 1) Copy the EPTSZP.EXE file to a new folder on your hard disk.
  24.    Double-click the file EPTSZP.EXE. This will cause it to 
  25.    de-compress itself.

  40. HOW TO RUN
  41. -----------
  42. The Enhanced PTS can be invoked by double-clicking the EPTS application
  43. icon in the folder that EPTSZP.EXE was run, or entering EPTS via a 
  44. command line or custom shortcut, with the following optional arguments. 
  45. Note that the files pts.bin, dxdll.dll, and pts.hlp should reside in 
  46. the folder where the PTS application resides.

  48. Usage: EPTS [/sy|/sn|/sa][/ry|/rn] [datafile]
  49.  
  50. Options    Meaning

  52. /sy     sense yes - detect default printer configuration (default)
  53. /sn     sense no  - do not detect default printer configuration 
  54. /sa     sense ask - ask user 
  55.  
  56. /rn     do not show recommendations (default)
  57. /ry     display ranked list of recommended steps in status window 
  58.

  61. The datafile contains probability and cost information.  The default is 
  62. PTS.BIN included in this directory. The files pts.bin, dxdll.dll, 
  63. and pts.hlp should reside in the directory where the EPTS application 
  64. resides.
