  14. You have two choices, depending on what's installed
  15. on your machine.

  17. Java interpreted bytecode:
  18. (If you have any Java interpreter)

  20.    CLICK ON THE BATCH FILE CALLED "Palmetto Bay 
  21.    Wordmaster v0.91" TO START THE PROGRAM.

  23. Native Windows 95 version:
  24. (If you have Internet Explorer 3.01 or higher
  25. and Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine DLLs)

  27.    LAUNCH THE APPLICATION PBWM091.EXE
  28.    TO START THE PROGRAM.

  35. This is the Java Virtual Machine version of 
  36. Palmetto Bay Wordmaster.  This distribution
  37. includes Java bytecode (*.class) files and
  38. a stand-alone .EXE program.  In both cases it's
  39. required that Microsoft Java runtime libraries 
  40. are already installed your machine.   If you
  41. don't have these libraries, see the Web site
  42. above for more information.  The batch file
  43. supplied in this directory references Microsoft's 
  44. "JVIEW.EXE" included in this archive.  You can 
  45. change the file to reference any other Java 
  46. viewer you desire.   An icon for this program 
  47. that you can use to create Windows 95 shortcuts 
  48. is included in the file PBWICON.ICO.

  52. Troubleshooting

  55. Q:  I can't get the Java interpreted byte code
  56.     (batch file) to run!
  57.  
  58. Did you unzip this archive with a program that
  59. does not support long filenames?  It is
  60. recommended that you use a Windows 95-aware
  61. archive program such as WinZip.  (See
  62. www.winzip.com)

  65. Q:  I can't get the .EXE to run!
  66.  
  67. Do you have Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine
  68. DLLs installed on your machine?  If you don't,
  69. the .EXE will mysteriously do nothing at all.

  71. Microsoft's JVM free download page.

  74. Q:  I can run the program, but the dictionary
  75. appears empty.

  77. If this distribution doesn't include the 1.6 
  78. Mbyte dictionary file eng33kwm.sdf that Wordmaster 
  79. 0.91 requires, you should download it separately 
  80. from the Web site above and put it in this directory.
