- LEVEL
- ===========================================================
- Additional levels you can find in following directory:
- ...\Q\LEVEL. All levels of these directory are working ONLY
- with registered version!
- In the directory ...\Q\UTIL you can find the program QVER.
- With this you can change the version number of a level.

- LEVEL (*.BSP-files)
- -----------------------------------------------------------
- To play these levels, you have to unpack the *.pak-files
- of the QUAKE-subdirectory ...\QUAKE\ID1 with an unpacker.
- Some of these unpackers you can find in the directory
- ...\Q\UTIL. (e.g. the program WINPACK (for Windows) in the
- directory ...\Q\UTIL\MB210 or the programm UNPACK (for DOS)
- in the directory ...\Q\UTIL\211.
- Before you start to unpack, you have to copy the unpacker
- into the QUAKE-subdirectory ...\QUAKE\ID1. Now start the
- unpacker. (To use UNPACK for DOS: UNPACK ID0.PAK and UNPACK ID1.PAK.)
- Now copy the desired file (e.g. FIRST.BSP) to the following
- directory: ...\QUAKE\ID1\MAPS.
- Start QUAKE. Go to the QUAKE-Console (Hit the ^-key (under
- the ESC-key).). Type MAP and your desired level (e.g.
- MAP FIRST). Now QUAKE starts the level.

- LEVEL (*.MAP-files)

- These files you must compile first into *.BSP-format.
- You need following files, you find in the directory
- ...\Q\UTIL: QBSP, VIS and LIGHT.
- Please read the ReadMe-files.

- Patches you find in this directory:
- ...\Q\PATCH

- PATCHES (PROGS.DAT)
- ----------------------------------------------------------
- If the files have been compiled into PROGS.DAT-files, you have
- to create a new QUAKE-subdirectory (e.g. ...\QUAKE\PUNISH).
- Now copy the choosen patchfile in your new directory and
- start QUAKE like this: QUAKE -GAME PUNISH

- PATCHES (*.QC)
- ----------------------------------------------------------+
- These files have to be compiled. More about this topic you
- find in HOWPATCH.TXT in the directory ...\Q\PATCH.

- In this directory you can find graphic-files, textures
- (e.g. new monsters).
