  1. These files (Speech.exe and Speech.35/Speech.525) are replacement files 
  2. for those that are sometimes erased during the Speech pack installation 
  3. procedure.
  4.  
  5. You only need one of the Speech.35/Speech.525 files. You MUST rename this 
  6. file to use it. If you have 3.5 installation disks, then rename the Speech.35
  7. file to Speech.dat, e.g.
  8.  
  9.           A:> ren speech.35 speech.dat <enter>
  10.  
  11. Likewise, if you are using 5.25 installation disks, rename the Speech.525
  12. file to speech.dat.
  13.  
  14. Make a backup of your original Disk 1 of the Speech Accessory Pack. Then copy
  15. the Speech.exe and the speech.dat files onto this backup. You should now be
  16. able to install the Speech pack.
