-
- The purpose of the game is like the 'real' Defender (or any clone)
- game; don't let the Aliens land on the surface of your planet. To reach
- that goal you have to shoot 'em back to the black, dark space. In the
- game there are two special items: the Alien-Lunchbox, that will fall
- down if you shoot it. If you catch it, various things can happen; the
- aera will be partially cleared, your firepower or speed will increase,
- you can get extra lives or bonus points et cetera. The other item is
- the Alien-Mother-In-Law. It you shoot her, the Aliens are so pleased
- that they move up one level.
-
- Sometimes, probably when the Alien-Boss is watching, they're very
- diligent and start a full speed attack. Just watch the message box.
-
- Level 3, 10, 20 et cetera are special levels with just one Alien moving
- fast left to right. If you hit it will produce an Alien-Lunchbox.
-
- You can play a one or two player game where you have to stay alive for
- a certain time. Just watch the timer. Every time you survive a level
- things will speed up. In the end the Computer definitly wins, even on
- 8088 machines.
-
- As you have noticed, statisticly you're the type reading documentation
- when it's to late, this is not a real graphixz game. The program had to
- be a small x-mas surviving project. It takes lots of extra time
- building all the routines for graphics mode. But it became quite a nice
- program, at least in my opinion, and took also lots of time. These days
- nobody takes a game seriously if it not takes up 20 high density disks,
- containing megabytes of high-res graphixz and 16-bit stereo
- SoundBlaster effects. But if you take that away, useally nothing
- special remains. Just the good 'ol thing: Shoot 'em up. So what's the
- real difference? It'a all the mind ya know.. Just like MS-Windows.
-
-
- P.S. The program uses VBL for timing. Maybe it will not work properly
- on all machines.
