  10. I've gotten a report or problems using DELIVER under VMS 5.5-1
  11. (presumably the problem happens with 5.5-x, but nothing has been said
  12. about that).  The problem only happens with unprivileged accounts
  13. (specifically accounts without CMKRNL).  DELIVER has been installed
  14. correctly (at least the privileges assigned to the various MAIL
  15. executables ought to allow DELIVER to work).

  17. Andy Harper (the guy with the problem) has chased the problem and it
  18. seems that MAILSHR.EXE is turning off CMKRNL (perhaps all "unnecessary"
  19. privileges) before entering DELIVER_MAILSHR which neatly prevents
  20. DELIVER from being able to submit the necessary batch jobs to actually
  21. deliver the mail.

  23. I don't have a 5.5-1 system available to chase this one, so the question
  24. is:

  26.         Is anyone out there running the new version of DELIVER on 5.5-1
  27.         and seeing any problems with it when a non-privileged user
  28.         attempts to send mail to an account with the transport set to
  29.         DELIVER%?

  31. Or can you confirm that starting with V5.5 that MAIL now forces
  32. privileges to be only what MAIL believes to be necessary (which should
  33. break a lot of foreign transports)?
