- Guten Tag, Torsten.
-
- I got your mail today.
-
- I have looked through the things you have marked. (I also understand
- some german... :-)
-
- First of all, the C compiler. It is FTP-able on the net. If you have
- not recieved a pointer to it, yet, I can get it for you. It fits on
- one RL02. You can put in on one RL01 as well. It's not that big. A few
- 1000 block at most.
-
- I have two Pascal compilers for RSX as well. The problem is that I
- cant get one of them to compile. I have a running version, but it was
- linked to a version of FCS which don't udnerstand named directories.
- *Sigh*. Are you running -11M or -11M-PLUS by the way? And which
- version?
-
- I havn't seen anything else about the unix lookalike filesystem, but I
- think I know how it works. I have had some ideas in the same
- direction. The boring thing is that it isn't really a new filesystem,
- just some cosmetica on top of the old one. Normal programs won't be
- able to utilize that file system. C programs linked with a special
- library will be able to utilize it, but nothing else. So, I don't
- think that I personally is that interested. I'd rather rewrite
- FILES-11 in that case. Make it ODS-2 compatible or something.
-
- I am a member of DECUS, by the way, so I can order stuff from them.
-
- I have some other stuff for RSX available as well. I would recommend
- that you log in on my RSX system. Try "telnet magica.update.uu.se"
- Login on account GUEST, password is GUEST.
- Look around a little. I have some assorted stuff lying there. I'm also
- working on my TCP/IP implementation on that machine. ARP is up and
- running. IP is on its way. :-)
-
- I have the C compiler there, as well as Pascal, Lisp, BASIC, Fortran
- and maybe a few other things I don't remember right now. I have a
- Forth lying on a tape somewhere.
-
- MAGICA is an pdp-11/70 running RSX-11M-PLUS V4.3 by the way. Also have
- DECnet up and running.
-
- Le me know what you think.
-
- Sincerely yours
- Johnny
