- Is it possible to move process dumps from system to system and analyze them
- elsewhere (the versions of VMS may differ from system to system)?
-
- I tried this using UUCP to copy the dumps, but when I invoke ANALYZE/PROCESS on
- the copies I get:
-
- SYSTEM-W-BADFILEVER
-
- which is complaining about the version number of a file being bogus. I'm
- trying to transfer a save set containing the dump file to see if that helps.
-
- I can analyze them just fine on the original system. (Which isn't always an
- option)
-
- Has anybody out there done this successfully? and What is the BADFILEVER trying
- to tell me. The system messages and recovery procedures is unhelpful in this
- context.
