- To all:
-
- Thanks for all of your replies on the subject. Obviously I missed
- an important section in the New Features manual (excuse: Bookreader
- is our site's only means for VMS documentation...that's right, no
- paper copies. Sigh, I miss browsing...)
-
- Well, anyway, I can offer a little tid-de-bit. We demo'ed RTF
- (Remote Tape Facility), from Touch Technologies I believe. It
- allows you to share tape devices over the Ethernet, and it seemed
- to work quuite well. Performance wasn't bad at all (but we didn't
- traverse a bridge on the Ethernet...they promote "worldwide access").
- We didn't buy it because we'll wait for VAXcluster sharing instead.
- Guess we'll have to wait a bit longer :)
-
- Thanks again!
