- Hi fellow MX-users,
-
- First of all, thanks to all of you who replied to my request for info
- on installing MX 3.1 on UCX 2.0 on VMX 5.5-1. I did install it and
- am pleased to announce that it works nicely. Nice documentation, too!
-
- I do have one teensie quirk that I need to get around and am turning
- to you because I am getting nowhere quickly. Whenever I send mail to
- anyone, whether within or outside my domain, the From field shows up
- as simply user@node with the domain info missing in both VMS and SMTP
- From fields. Recipients cannot simply reply to my message. The info
- does show up in the Sender field. I tried to fix this by adding the
- following logical:
-
- define/sys/exec mx_vmsmail_from_format "<!AS@!AS.fit.edu>"
-
- This caused the SMTP version of the From field to be bogus (see
- below), but did not solve the problem.

- Subject: hi
-
- When I added the following logical:
-
- define mx_reply_to "nicholson@iguana.fit.edu"
-
- I did get the complete address in the Reply_To field, but again both
- From fields just had user@node info.
-
- Is there any way to force the full internet address to show up in the
- From fields? If so, could someone please tell me what the magic
- command or configure option is? Please forgive my ignorance if the
- solution turns out to be blatantly obvious or right in front of my
- face. Incidentally, I did RTFM. Thanks in advance for your help.
