  16. Welcome to the twenty-first edition of the Hamfest Info mailing list.  This 
  17. list covers hamfests in North and South Carolina, and is updated as needed, 
  18. usually about once a month.  I have included a few hamfests outside of the 
  19. Carolinas that may be of interest.  If you do not desire to receive this 
  20. information, let me know.  If you know someone reachable by e-mail who would 
  21. like to receive this information, let me know and I will add them to the list.

  24. just about anything you need to know and would be happy to pass it along.

  28. Miscellaneous notes:

  30. I have included some preliminary 1993 hamfest dates at the end of this
  31. newsletter.  If your club has selected a date and it does not appear on
  32. this list as being confirmed, please let me know.  I expect to have
  33. a more detailed list next issue.

  35. I finally received a reply from the Triangle East ARA regarding their
  36. hamfest; they obviously won't have one this year but are hoping to
  37. have one next year around October 17th.
  38.  
  39. The next issue will of Hamfest Info will be out in mid-December and will
  40. cover the Greenwood SC, Richmond VA and possibly the Gastonia hamfest.

  42. If you have a university account that will be deleted at the end of the
  43. Fall semester, please let me know and I will send you what info I have
  44. on 1993 hamfests before your account is deleted.

  48. Upcoming events:

  50. GREENSBORO HAMFEST
  51. The 12th Annual Greater Greensboro Hamfest will be held Saturday and Sunday,
  52. November 28th and 29th the National Guard Armory on Franklin Boulevard 
  53. in Greensboro.  The hamfest hours are 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and 8 AM to
  54. 2 PM on Sunday.
  55.  
  56. Talk-in is on the 146.76 and 145.25 repeaters and on 146.52 simplex.
  57.  
  58. There will be an indoor dealer and flea market area, and an outdoor
  59. tailgating area.  The flea market area inside is always sold out long
  60. before the hamfest; so you should plan on tailgating if you don't have
  61. a reservation already.
  62.  
  63. Tickets are $4 in advance, $5 at the gate.  Outside tailgating spaces are
  64. an additional $2. Preregistration requests must be received by November 23rd.

  69. VE Exams will be offered on Saturday ONLY on a walk-in basis.  
  70. Bring original and copies of license and certificates plus a photo ID
  71. and $5.40.  Registration at 8:30 AM with exams to start at 9:00 AM.

  74. There will be food service available on site, and unfortunately there 
  75. are not many close restaurants.

  77. A free shuttle bus service to the Carolina Craftsman Show and the
  78. Four Seasons Town Centre shopping mall will be offered on Saturday only 
  79. beginning at 9 AM.

  81. This is a medium-sized event and is well attended by dealers of ham
  82. radio and computer equipment.
