  18. The topic for this session will be Navigating the Internet with New
  19. Tools. ( I thought about saying without tears, but then who wants to
  20. tempt the fates that much, not me. )
  21.  
  22. George Brett* will demonstrate some new tools for the Macintosh that
  23. permit easier navigation of the Internet. Among the applications to be
  24. demonstrated are the Internet Gopher (in at least 4 flavours), Fetch
  25. (an FTP tool), XferIt (another FTP tool) and Hytelnet. Concepts to be
  26. presented in the demonstration apply to software available for other
  27. operating systems in addition to the Mac OS.

  37. We have opened up the  session to all who are interested. So far I
  38. have heard about some school teachers, a library science class, and
  39. faculty from other departments interested in attending. Invite
  40. a public librarian or let a colleague in a community college know.

  42. Bring questions and other challenges for Brett to share with the
  43. audience (and watch how he asks other experts in the audience for the
  44. real answers).

  46. This should be an entertaining and enlightening session. After the
  47. break we will open the virtual floor to other topics that relate to
  48. libraries, networks, or other issues about technology and information
  49. delivery.
