  13. I have a 19-minute videotape made here in the USA that I need to convert or
  14. copy to a format that can be viewed on the average VCR in the UK.

  16. The friend in England to whom I want to send the video footage tried to look
  17. into it, and found that although both countries use VHS, the systems are quite
  18. different.  USA has 425 lines while Europe, Australia, and the UK have 625 lines.  Therefore there may be some technical difficulty in converting or
  19. transferring images.  
  20.  
  21. This is not terribly important to anyone but my friend, her husband, and myself
  22. (family pictures, so to speak) so it would be hard to justify spending a lot of
  23. money on it.

  25. I would be grateful to know if anyone out there has had any luck doing this
  26. sort of thing, and if so, how.

  28. If anyone else is interested I will be glad to collect/summarize replies.
