  15. We always took our VWs (Beetle, Scirocco) to Lonnie Long, who works at Jim
  16. Hawkins' in Durham. He does good work, he's honest, and he can often get used
  17. parts when it's ok to use them, at quite a savings to the customer. I recommend
  18. him.
  19. His brother (forgot his name) works at Hicks' VW Service, and Lonnie speaks
  20. highly of that shop, though I have no experience with them. They do restoration
  21. work there too.
  22. A third option in Durham is Melton's Garage on Iredell. Mr. Melton is a really
  23. nice guy, they fix VWs there, and I would trust him with my car, though again,
  24. he hasn't worked on our cars. Friends with other makes have recommended him.

  26. Since we moved to Cary, several folks have recommended Carolina Auto Works, and
  27. Monday I'm taking the Beetle to them for some work. I'll let you know how that
  28. one visit goes if you're interested.
