- We always took our VWs (Beetle, Scirocco) to Lonnie Long, who works at Jim
- Hawkins' in Durham. He does good work, he's honest, and he can often get used
- parts when it's ok to use them, at quite a savings to the customer. I recommend
- him.
- His brother (forgot his name) works at Hicks' VW Service, and Lonnie speaks
- highly of that shop, though I have no experience with them. They do restoration
- work there too.
- A third option in Durham is Melton's Garage on Iredell. Mr. Melton is a really
- nice guy, they fix VWs there, and I would trust him with my car, though again,
- he hasn't worked on our cars. Friends with other makes have recommended him.
-
- Since we moved to Cary, several folks have recommended Carolina Auto Works, and
- Monday I'm taking the Beetle to them for some work. I'll let you know how that
- one visit goes if you're interested.
